Joseph Henry Sharp was an American painter born in 1859 in Bridgeport, Ohio. He is best known for his paintings of Native American culture and life in the American West during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Sharp began his career as an illustrator and portrait painter before turning his attention to the American West. He traveled extensively throughout the region, living among and studying Native American tribes.
