Description
Albert Bierstadt (January 7, 1830 – February 18, 1902) was a German-American painter best known for his lavish, sweeping landscapes of the American West. He joined several journeys of the Westward Expansion to paint the scenes. He was not the first artist to record the sites, but he was the foremost painter of them for the remainder of the 19th century.
Bierstadt was born in Prussia, but his family moved to the United States when he was 1. He returned to study painting for several years in Düsseldorf. He became part of the second generation of the Hudson River School in New York, an informal group of like-minded painters who started painting along the Hudson River. Their style was based on carefully detailed paintings with romantic, almost glowing lighting, sometimes called luminism. Bierstadt was an important interpreter of the western landscape, and he is also grouped with the Rocky Mountain School.

It's a beautiful painting, but I ordered a 48x29" print and it looked terrible. I'm begging sellers to not offer a huge sized print if the image resolution is not good enough to handle it. No one wants to pay $90 for a print where you can see the individual pixels. The original painting is 10 feet long. A large print of it should be possible, but as the seller you're the only one who knows the resolution of the image you uploaded, so we rely on you to not offer something that will look bad.
Albert Bierstadt replied:
Thanks for the candid feedback. I am sorry you had that experience. One of the challenges with the FAA platform is the file size limitations. We have to compress the file to meet the upload requirements and that sometimes creates problems with the file. I checked this one and it does look blurry, I have replaed it with a better version that looks much better expanded up. It is darker looking as it is from a different source but it will look better printed larger.
