Artist's Description

Paul Cézanne, born on January 19, 1839, in Aix-en-Provence, France, was a revolutionary figure in the art world. Often referred to as the "father of modern art," Cézanne's work laid the foundation for 20th-century art movements, particularly Cubism and Fauvism.

Cézanne's early life was marked by a conflict between his father's wish for him to pursue a legal career and his own passion for art. Ultimately, he moved to Paris, where he formed close friendships with other emerging artists, such as Camille Pissarro and Émile Zola. Cézanne's early works were Impressionist in nature, but he soon developed his unique style characterized by geometric forms and a profound exploration of color and perspective.

His most iconic subjects included landscapes from his native Provence, still lifes, and portraits. His masterpieces, like "Mont Sainte-Victoire," "The Card Players," and "The Bathers," are celebrated for their innovative approach to composition and the use of simple geomet...
